These Zolo Linko teethers by Kushies are a nice interactive set because they include little Zolo creatures your teeny grandchildren will enjoy holding and hugging. These creatures are the soft additions among other interesting textures and shapes that can satisfy an array of finicky little fingers and gums. You’ll find raised dots and stripes, highly polished and matte finished plastic rings and unique shapes. One pretzel-shaped teether has squiggly etched lines, and if the colors were brown with off-white (read, milk chocolate drizzled with white chocolate…), instead of white with black, it would look good enough to eat! Of course, the contrast of black and white together is now known to be helpful in infant development (three of the links are black and white). Kushies has also included plenty of other fun, vibrant colors perfect for your playful tot. All of the individual teethers link together to make a long chain, or can be parceled into smaller chains for strollers, car seats, restaurants, etc. The Zolo Linko set is “Parents’ Choice Approved.” and makes a great gift!

Bear’s house, with “big cozy chairs,” and “walls painted bright” seems to be the kind of safe, fun place where we all want our children and grandchildren to be.

This was one of our son’s favorite toys — and ours. The central “book” flips into one of two positions to put the toy into one of two modes (at one of two parent-selectable volume settings). Children can then press keys, move sliders, and enjoy their musical creations. The Leapfrog Learn & Groove musical table & activity center for baby motivated our son to pull himself up to the side of the table, helping him to learn to stand and cruise as he’d move from one side of the table to the next — to get to another activity and sound. The music the table makes is geared towards children’s ears, but unlike many musical toys, is pleasant enough for adults. The legs detach, and the top of the table can rest on the floor, so that infants can play with it (and this feature also makes the toy more portable). Bedtime behavior is so touch-and-go during baby’s first and second year — and sometimes comforting “aids” can really help everyone get some much needed sleep. We received an earlier version of this Ocean Wonders Aquarium by Fisher-Price when our son was 6 months old and he (as well as his baby sister) ADORED it!
